
YORK SIMCOE EXPRESS TO HOST 2016 ETA MINOR MIDGET SHOWCASE

One of Ontario minor hockey’s premier
showcase events will move to Aurora later this year as the York Simcoe Express
will host the 2016 ETA Minor Midget Showcase at the Aurora Community Centre
December 3rd and 4th.
The AAA Showcase will feature games
between all Eastern ‘Triple A’ Hockey Association Minor Midget teams, as well
as a Major Midget All Star game, attracts more than 100 Ontario Hockey League
General Managers and scouts as part of their evaluation of the top prospects in
preparation for the OHL draft.
“The York Simcoe Express is proud to host the 2016 ETA Minor Midget Showcase and to give these talented, young players the opportunity and the platform to display the great talent in our league,” said Martin Harding, President of the York Simcoe Express Hockey Association. “We’re thankful to the ETA, the Town of Aurora and the many partners who recognized the importance of this event and will help to make it a great success in December.”
The ETA Minor Midget Showcase, now in its 8th year, has been hosted for the past two years by the North Central Predators Hockey Association, at Orillia’s Rotary Place Complex, and two teams from the Northern Ontario Hockey Association will participate in the event.
In addition to the games at Aurora Community Centre, the ETA Minor Midget Showcase will include forums and other information sessions to help prepare the young players for their future, both on the ice and off.
