York Simcoe Express is excited to announce its
inaugural “Steamtrain Shootout” Invitational Tournament which will take place
in Aurora and Newmarket from September 19 to 22, 2024.

This U13 showcase style tournament will feature Canadian Teams from their Ontario AAA leagues competing against American Teams representing their State and AAA organization.
A preliminary round robin will establish rankings culminating in a Championship Sunday at St. Andrew’s College!
Confirmed Teams to Date Include:
American: Little Caesars (MI), St. Louis Blues (MO), and Ohio Blue Jackets (OH).
Canadian: Niagara North Stars (OMHA West), Elgin Middlesex (Alliance), Vaughan Kings (GTHL), YSE (OMHA East).
This inaugural showcase will have a total of eight teams, four from north of the border and four from south of the border, leaving one more from the south side still to be confirmed.
The Steamtrain Shootout is proud to call NHL All-Star and Olympic Gold Medalist Curtis “Cujo” Joseph
its Tournament Ambassador. It will also include an opening ceremony appearance from YSE founding member Mr. Viv Agresti. The Title Sponsor is Sherwood, endorsed by YSE alumnus and NHL rising star, Quinton Byfield.
After a multi-year hiatus from hosting tournaments, YSE is confident that the Steamtrain Shootout will be a premiere event and look forward to welcoming some of the best 2012 AAA hockey teams from all over North America this fall. STS organizers have many exciting activities planned for this weekend and it is sure to be one of a kind for players and their families. Stay tuned for further updates.
