Atom, 2014-2015 (York-Simcoe Express)

Congratulations to our Atom boy's for winning ETA Championship for a 2nd yr in a row! The team defeated Central Ontario Wolves in 2 straight wins, capturing the gold medal at home. Way to go boys, thanks another great season.

The Atom team went on a tear in December undefeated in their last 6 games. Their 5-0-1 stretch in December, was kicked off with a road trip to Kingston playing against the Frontenacs on Saturday Dec 1. The boys caught the Frontenacs OHL game that evening before heading to play Clarington Toros on Sunday, the only team to take a point from YSE in December, in a 0-0 tie.

Another strong finish for the Atoms at the Premiere Hockey Tournament Shanahan International, held in Toronto Nov 7 -9th. YSE Atoms were among 45 Elite and AAA teams competing in the 2004 division, and our boys finished in a 3-way tie for 1st place in our round robin series [3-1]. The Atoms had a chance to play great hockey against Michigan Ice Hawks, Kitchener Rangers, Southern Tier Admirals and Toronto Red Wings. The Atoms plan to continue their momentum as they gear up for their next series of regular season games.    GO EXPRESS GO!

The ATOM boys are back in town after a semi-final appearance and 9th place overall finish in the 24-team Covert Division, Detroit Warrior Invitational Tournament. Way to go! The team is gearing up for their next series of regular season games, playing at their home rink, La Brier Arena, St. Andrews College. Come out and cheer them on!

For the 4th consecutive year, the YSE Atom team will put on their jerseys and take part in the annual Terry Fox Run this Sunday September 14th. Our team players, and families, will run the route together to support the ongoing work to fund innovative cancer research programs.
