York Simcoe Express AAA Hockey Association Announces Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities as Stuffed Animal Toss Charity Partner for New Home Rink Grand Opening At La Brier Family Arena, Andrews College

Aurora, ON, October 1, 2014 – The York Simcoe Express AAA Hockey Association is pleased to introduce Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities as the official charitable partner of six Stuffed Animal Toss games being held on October 4 for the grand opening of York Simcoe Express’ new home rink at
St. Andrew’s College. The Stuffed Animal Toss is an initiative where fans are invited to throw new or gently-used stuffed animals on the ice, at the end of each game.

On October 4th, 2014, fans will have the opportunity to purchase stuffed animals at six York Simcoe Express AAA Hockey Association games held at St. Andrew’s College in Aurora in exchange for a $5 minimum donation to Jumpstart Charities. All stuffed animals thrown on the ice will be donated to local charitable organizations in the area following the final game.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities is a nationally registered charity dedicated to removing financial barriers so kids across Canada have the opportunity to get off the sidelines and into the game. The charity helps by assisting with costs associated with equipment, registration and/or transportation.

"The team at Jumpstart is thrilled to be partnering with The York Simcoe Hockey Express AAA Hockey Association on their Stuffed Animal Toss, as this enables us to help even more kids in York Region to participate in organized sports and physical activities,” says Freida Rubletz, Regional Manager, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. “Since inception, Jumpstart has helped over 11,800 kids in the York and Simcoe regions experience the benefits of physical activity by helping families with the costs associated with equipment, registration and transportation.”
