The YSE U14 team is once again Champs after
winning the Summit Series, which took place in Chicago, Illinois from January
23rd-25th, 2026. The team adds this tournament victory to an already impressive
season after being named Champions at the Wendy Dufton in London and Finalists
at the Vaughan Kings Classic.YSE went 6 and 0 beating several top 10 ranked
teams including Ohio Blue Jackets, Chicago Mission and Team Illinois in the
round robin. They went on to beat
Anaheim Jr Ducks 9-2 and Detroit Honeybaked 8-4 before securing the final win
over USA’s 2nd ranked Team Illinois by a score of 5-2.
The weekend was also not without excitement
off the ice as families and players braved the extreme cold which caused school
closures in the local area, took in a Chicago Blackhawks game at the United
Centre, and dealt with flight cancellations and challenging road
conditions. However, it will be a
weekend to remember as this group heads back to Ontario to focus on finishing
their OMHA season where they lead their division with a current record of
24-0-0.
