Atom, 2015-2016 (York-Simcoe Express)

The Shanahan Warrior Tournament was contested over the weekend of November 6-8. 35 Teams in total from all over Southern Ontario and the USA. The team battled hard through the preliminary round, achieving a 4-0 record to seed them as #2 going into the playoff round. Hard fought quarter and semi finals vs. Markham Waxers and Toronto Red Wings landed YSE in the Finals vs. the Toronto Titans. Once again another hard fought battle but coming up short in a 6-3 loss. The game was much closer than what the score indicates. Great Job Team!

What a great start to the 2015 / 2016 Season. The team battled hard through the preliminary rounds going 4-0 and made it through as the #2 Seed going into Sunday. Facing arch rivals, Barrie Colts in the quarter final first round, winning a close hard fought battle 2-1. The semi final round they faced the host Toronto Marlies and came out on top with a 5-2 victory. Off to the finals to face the Toronto Nats, coming up just short with a 5-4 loss. Still quite an accomplishment considering the Toronto Nats are ranked as the #1 Team in Ontario at the 2005 age group. Well done all players and ...
