The U13 York Simcoe Express wrapped up an impressive showing
at the Bell Capital Cup Tournament in Ottawa after Christmas, finishing as
finalists after a hard-fought overtime loss in the championship game.
Throughout the weekend, the Express demonstrated strong
teamwork, determination, and resilience while competing against top-level
opposition. Consistent play in all three zones, supported by timely scoring, solid
defensive efforts, and strong goaltending, helped the team earn its spot in the
finals.

A highlight of the trip was watching the Ottawa Senators
play the night before. Then the U13 YSE teamed
earned the rare opportunity to play the next day on the same NHL rink for the
finals, giving players a memorable and motivating experience on a professional
stage. The championship game lived up to
the moment, with the Express battling to the final whistle and pushing the game
into overtime before narrowly falling short.
Congratulations to the players and coaches on an excellent
tournament run, and thank you to the families who traveled to Ottawa and
provided tremendous support throughout the weekend. This experience and
performance mark a proud achievement for the U13 York Simcoe Express and
valuable momentum moving forward into the new year.
