York Simcoe Express is excited to announce that the newly named
Quinton Byfield Steamtrain Shootout is back!
Expanding to include an additional Division, this year’s event will feature 8 teams per age group (4 Canadian and 4 American) for U12 (2014-born) and U13 (2013-born).

The Quinton Byfield Steamtrain Shootout will
once again feature a 5-game guarantee as well as custom Can/Am
jerseys for all participants! With a
focus on offering a high-end experience, participating teams will enjoy playing
all games in one quality venue (Ray Twinney Rec Complex) along with favourable
scheduling including no game start times prior to 9am. Additionally, hotel room blocks have already
been secured for all teams requiring accommodations.
This event will take place from September 19th
to 21st, 2025 in Newmarket, Ontario.
Past participants include Detroit Little
Caesars, Vaughan Kings, St. Louis Jr Blues, Ohio Blue Jackets and
Elgin-Middlesex Canucks among others.
