The YSE
U10 and U16 Mentorship is in full swing. The program involves an exciting partnership between
the two teams whereby each U16 player is paired with a U10 player for
the season in a mentor role. Both teams will attend each others home games and the
U16s will assist and support the U10s at their practices throughout the season.
There are also fun activities planned throughout the season like a Holiday scrimmage/party and a fun skate at an Outdoor rink in the New Year. The teams had a Player Meet and Greet last month where the U10 players got to meet their Mentors and all players participated in some fun activities getting to know each other. The U16 players attended the U10s Home Opener on Saturday, October 5th and cheered them on both on and off the ice. The U10 & U16s teams will not only support and learn from each other this season, but also form some relationships that will last well beyond this hockey season. The mentorship program is a great jump off point for the U10 players and a way for the U16 players to give back and reflect on their own journey.
