Return to Hockey Update
Submitted By Kelly Jones on Thursday, April 1, 2021
Dear York Simcoe Express Members,

With today’s news that the province of Ontario is implementing a four-week move to the Grey (lockdown) stage for public health protocols beginning Saturday, York Simcoe Express will unfortunately be forced to cease our Return to Hockey programming for the season.

As an association, everyone worked together to provide our players with as much opportunity for development as
possible during this challenging season, but our focus will now shift to the 2021-22 season and tryouts scheduled for  September. For our U16 and U18 teams, we will continue to examine any opportunities for potential draft showcase events in May once the lockdown has ended and protocols have been determined by public health officials and the OMHA.

Thank you to all of the players, families, coaches, trainers, board members and the Return to Hockey committee who worked all season to make the most of a difficult situation. Your patience and positivity helped make this season possible.

All members will be contacted early next week with refund details for payments made for programming in April.

Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you all in September and a return to a normal hockey season. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend and off-season. Please look for updates on the YSE website this summer with tryout schedules for September.

Yours truly,

The York Simcoe Express Board of Directors, YSE Return to Hockey Committee and Coaches
