Minor Midget Raise Funds and Awareness for Breast Cancer Research
Submitted By yse on Wednesday, November 6, 2019
As
many of you know, the Minor Midget players and their
families have spent the month of October focused on raising funds and awareness
for breast cancer research. Their very
successful efforts included bake sales and raffles, community donations and
players wearing pink jerseys and apparel for all October games.
We would like to thank Silent Impact Designs and McLean and
Dickey Marine Insurance for sponsoring the jerseys which allowed all of the
funds to go toward the campaign.
It has been a collaborative effort between our team, association and all of our families. And we thank each and everyone one of you for your commitment to this important initiative. We would also like to give a shout out to the YSE Peewee team and the Markham Waxers Minor Midget team who contributed team donations to our campaign.
This past Sunday we welcomed Dianne Harrison, breast cancer champion and survivor, and we proudly presented her with a cheque in the amount of $5000.00 toward breast cancer research. Our players then presented their Mom’s and Grandma’s with their pink jerseys which was a special moment for all. Thank you again to everyone for your support and generosity!
