OHL Priority Selection Draft
Submitted By YSE on Saturday, April 6, 2019
The 2019 OHL Priority Selection Draft was held on Saturday and six members of the York Simcoe Express Minor Midget team heard their names called beginning with captain Jacob Holmes in the 1st round (18th overall) by the Soo Greyhounds. Holmes was named to Team Ontario's defence corps this season for the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta and helped lead the YSE Minor Midgets to an OMHA bronze medal and an appearance in the OHL Cup.

Following the opening round selection, defenceman Matthew Roy was taken in the 3rd round (58th overall) by the Flint Firebirds with a third YSE defenceman picked when Braden Haché was taken by the Kingston Frontenacs to open the 4th round (63rd overall).

Later in the 4th round, forward Kaleb Nelson was taken 69th overall by the Hamilton Bulldogs followed by fellow forwards Cole Turcotte in the 9th round and Ryan Cutler in 12th round.

Congratulations to all players selected today and best of luck to all members of the YSE Minor Midget team on the next stage of their career, wherever it should take them!
