YSE Clarke and Holmes selected for Canada winter games 2019
Submitted By yse on Thursday, January 24, 2019
Earlier this month two of our Minor Midget players received exciting news, both have been chosen to represent their respective provinces at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. Players were chosen by Team Ontario and Newfoundland scouts who travelled throughout the provinces attending games and tournaments since the start of the hockey season.

James Clarke # 14, was born in St. John’s Newfoundland and started playing for the Avalon Celtics, followed by the St John's Hitmen. James also played for the Newfoundland Provincial team for the past two years, competing at the annual Atlantic tournament.

Jacob Holmes # 74, and James Clarke # 14 will fly to Red Deer Alberta in February to compete at the Winter Games which take place from Feb 15- March 3. Jacob’s hometown of Alliston Ontario is where he got his start in hockey. He played for TNT as well as the Barrie Colts, before coming to YSE for his Minor Midget year .

Playing at the Canada Winter Games for both players is likely their greatest accomplishment in hockey to date, with many more to follow. James and Jacob would like to thank their families, coaches, teammates, and mentors for all their support along the way. Congratulations, and good luck at the Games!
