Quinton Byfield Selected 1st Overall In 2018 OHL Priority Selection
Submitted By YSE on Friday, April 6, 2018
Congratulations to Quinton Byfield who was selected 1st overall in the OHL Priority Selection as announced by the Sudbury Wolves

Byfield becomes the first York Simcoe Express player since Daniel Catenacci in 2009 to be selected 1st overall after a stellar Minor Midget season that also saw him earn ETA Player of the Year honours.

“I am thrilled to be selected first overall and honoured to be the recipient of the Jack Ferguson award,” said Byfield. “I have to thank my family for all their support in getting me to this position today. I would also like to thank all my past coaches and my teammates for all the help they have given me. Finally, I would like to thank the Sudbury Wolves for the honour of selecting me as the first pick of this year’s OHL draft. I’m very excited to join the Wolves and can’t wait to get started.”

The 2018 OHL Priority Selection will get underway on Saturday April 7 at 9 a.m. YSE fans can follow all the action live at www.ontariohockeyleague.com/draft or on YSE’s social media channels.

Congratulations again to Quinton and good luck to the rest of his teammates tomorrow!
