Minor Atom prepare for trip to Buffalo

A new year, a new set of challenges and adventures.  Early next week, our Minor Atom boys will embark on a trip to Buffalo, NY for both a new challenge and a new adventure.  Our Minor Atom boys will be taking part in THE CUP North American Championship (2005 age group) which will take place at the BRAND NEW River Works Ice Complex.  Here's the press release from the tournament! 

THE CUP NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP is excited to announce we will be playing select games at the brand new River Works Ice complex on the waterfront in downtown Buffalo.  River Works is a brand new 18 million dollar Facility located steps from First Niagara Center (Home of the Buffalo Sabres) in Downtown Buffalo.

All 2005 AAA teams will be playing one game Saturday Jan 17, 2015 in this year’s THE CUP North American Championship at the River Works outdoor open-air facility.

The 2005’s will be the first teams ever to play in the brand new River Works Ice Complex. River Works is an open-air ice arena providing the unique experience of playing outdoors with the comfort of knowing you are protected from the elements with a canopy. River Works features two covered ice rinks, heated dressing rooms and limited indoor heated viewing lounge, concessions and much more. The River Works facility is covered by a canopy protecting the players and spectators from the elements. This is a truly unique facility the players will never forget. The ice at River Works compressors can sustain ice up with outdoor temperatures up to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. While the average temperature in Buffalo on Jan 17 is 29 degrees (perfect for outdoor games we ask that all players and parent dress

appropriately for this incredible experience. Games will be played at temperatures at or above 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
