U12's -
The YSE U12 team had a very successful season and finished 2nd overall in the ETA division. They fought hard during playoffs and advanced out of their pool to OMHA's. The U12's tied Quinte (1-1), had a disappointing loss to  Niagara (5-2) but with renewed energy they came back to beat Southern Tier (4-1). Unfortunately, they ended up tying in points with Quinte and it came down to a goal differential of .005%, and sadly they did not advance to Sunday.

On another note, the YSE family would like to thank AJ Sanderson for his three years coaching this dynamic 2012 group. Throughout his three years, the 2012's finished at the top of the ETA division, and qualified for the OMHA's three times! They won the Taylor Hall Classic tournament this past season, and traveled to Chicago to play some of the top US teams in their age group. AJ will certainly be missed on the bench.

U14's -
A big congratulations to our YSE U14 team for a great run in their hometown OMHA's in Newmarket this past weekend. After coming into the tournament ranked 3rd in the East they had a great 3-2 win over the 1st place Barrie team. Unfortunately they lost their second game to the Hamilton Steel. The boys however came back hungry and took a narrow victory 1-0 against Southern Tier (2nd in the West) putting them into the Semi-finals on Sunday.  They were in for a tough battle against the Credit River Capitals (1st in the West) but they pulled ahead early and took the win 5-1 sending them to the finals. Once again they met up with Barrie in the final game. There was no seat left empty with an amazing hometown crowd in attendance to cheer them on.  Incredible support from family, friends and many fellow YSE players and coaches was truly appreciated. They took an early 1-0 lead but unfortunately couldn't hang on to the lead and lost 3-1. Not the result they were hoping for but the coaches are very proud of this team who peaked right at the right time and should be very proud of their silver medal finish.

They now wait to travel to Kingston to carry on in the U14 OHL Cup April 19-21st.
