York Simcoe Express to host 2nd Annual AAA Steamtrain Shootout Tournament in October
Submitted By YSE on Wednesday, February 15, 2017
The York Simcoe Express Hockey Association is excited to announce that the 2nd Annual AAA Steamtrain Shootout Tournament will be held in Aurora and Newmarket from Friday September 29th to Sunday October 1st, 2017.

The tournament will feature 10 teams in the 2007 division and 10 teams in the 2008 division, each team is guaranteed 4 games. Games will be played at the Ray Twinney Sports Complex, Stronach Aurora Recreational Complex and at St. Andrews College – La Brier Family Arena. Following each contest, Under Armour player of the game awards will be presented.

“Launching the Steamtrain Shootout last year provided the York Simcoe Express association with the chance to welcome teams from across the province and to showcase this strong minor hockey market,” said Graham Brown, director of events for the York Simcoe Express Association. “We look forward to building on the success of last year’s inaugural tournament and making this a popular annual tradition.”

Cost of registration per team is $1,495.00. For an early bird savings of $150.00, registration and payment must be received prior to June 15th, 2017.

The 2016 inaugural York Simcoe Express Steamtrain Shootout saw the 2007 Minor Atom Lambton Jr. Sting and the 2006 Atom York Simcoe Express teams named the winners for their respective age groups. The York Simcoe Express looks forward to welcoming all returning teams and players for the 2017 tournament.
