A standout throughout his seven years with the York-Simcoe Express, YSE93 forward Barclay Goodrow put on a show for players, fans and scouts alike in his Minor Midget year in 2008-09.  At 15 years old, Goodrow finished second in OMHA/ETA scoring amassing 114 points in 71 games (67 goals & 47 assists).  That following summer, Goodrow became the 17th overall pick to the Brampton Battalion.  The Toronto, Ontario native spent five season with the OHL's Battalion including two as their captain. Despite the flashy numbers in Minor Midget and the consistency in the OHL, Goodrow was never drafted into the NHL. In the fall of 2013, Goodrow spent time at the Detroit Red Wings camp but turned down an AHL contract in favour of spending his overage year with the Battalion, as their captain.  That season, Goodrow recorded a career high 67 points gathering the attention of the San Jose Sharks. On March 6th, 2014, Goodrow signed with the San Jose Sharks.
